Good luck HBMS cross country team tonight at VA 4pm. 

8th grade: Explore Test - Mark your calendars for Saturday October 2(A-K) and October 16(L-Z). All 8th grade students will go to their future high school to take this test to help the HS determine academic placement for next years incoming freshman. Please call the High School that your student(s) will be attending not HBMS. All 8th grade volleyball players should plan on taking their test on October 2 due to end of season tournaments.   

Your students did an awesome job making it through their first full week of school. Enjoy the long weekend(Labor Day Monday-No school) and the beautiful weather. Get the kids outside. See you all Tuesday. 

HBMS PTO meetings take place the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30PM in our media center. All parent are welcome to attend. 

I forgot something at school! How late do they stay open? Common statements by our students. Our building can be accessed after hours (2:15pm-10:00pm0 through door #17. Our custodians are busy cleaning, but are available if you need assistance. WE rent out our building to the park district and E-Free church Monday-Thursday night. .  

When dropping off your students at HBMS to start the day (7:30am), or picking up students at the end of the day (2:14) please use the church access road and parking lot. This will allow you easy exiting and keep cars away from our 28 school busses . Thanks, Mr. Ludwig.


 
Fall Fundraiser News

dollars-web.jpgOur annual Fall Fundraiser will take place from 8/31/10 through 9/14/10. All students should have received information on 8/31/10 about this event. WE will have three turn-in days (9/3, 9/10,9/14).  9/14 will be the final turn-in day and all order forms and money will need to be turned in on this day. Items will be picked-up by our parents and students on Wednesday 10/20/10 after 2pm. The Extreme Party will take place on November 12th 7pm-9pm. All students who sell at least 10 items will be invited to attend this party. Call the office of you have any questions.  ***If you are choosing not to participate in the Fall Fundraiser, but would like to make a  donation to the HBMSPTO, A $50.00 or more donation will allow your studnet to attend the Extreme Party.

Picture Re-Take Day

Picture re-take day is Wednesday October 27th.  These will be done 1st thing in the morning.  If you were absent the day that these were taken, this is your time to get them done as well.  If you have pictures to return please keep them at your home and send them in with your student on October 27th.  If you need to order them, have your student stop by the office to pick up the order form. 

 
Wiffle Ball Club- - - - -Batters Up
Batters ....  It is Wiffle Ball Club...... All team captains and players should plan on attending an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 14th from 2:15 - 3:30.  Let Mr. Starnes or Mr. Jackson know if you wish to be a part of the team but cannot attend the meeting.

If you are looking to buy the TI 34II calculator for your student they will be available in our main office starting August 2nd. The cost is $20.00. Please make checks out to D47.
