This allows us to serve our diverse student body, which continues to change rapidly each year. We work hard to create a learning environment that caters to different learning styles. Crystal Lake School District 47 is a highly regarded education provider for pre-kindergarten through 8th grade students. District 47 covers 47.8 square miles, including the city of Crystal Lake, as well as sections of Lake In The Hills, Cary, Woodstock, Huntley and McHenry.  We have 12 schools providing quality education to over 9,000 children, plus a center dedicated to pre-school children. The Crystal Lake area has experienced dramatic growth the past several years, and District 47 has added new schools and renovated existing schools to accommodate the growth. There are over 1,000 employees in District 47, which includes over 600 certified staff.  Everyone is committed to helping children acquire skills, knowledge, and attitudes that are essential for success in today’s society.
